Event Description
Yugratna, a 20-year young undergraduate engineering student at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, serves in Global Youth Board of Plant-for-the-Planet, works in UNEP Major Group for Children and Youth and has served as representative of Asia-Pacific in Junior Board of UNEP-TUNZA. She became the youngest person to address hundred Heads of States at UN General Assembly, New York(2009) at age of thirteen. She has delivered three TED talks- TEDxGateway Mumbai, TED Conference Bangalore, TEDx Christ University. Her involvement with UNEP, CPR and UNFCCC processes is since age of twelve.
Summary
1. At COP21, she delivered an intervention at first week closing plenary on behalf of youth and interviewed Ban Ki Moon on-stage at #EarthToParis event by UN Foundation. 2. She has served in organizing committee for UNEP youth conferences in Norway, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia. She has been a part of UNEP 2009-14, post-2014 strategy meetings and working groups for CPR resolutions at UNEA-1(2014) and UNEA-2(May 2016) at Nairobi.
