Usha Mehta was a renowned Indian freedom fighter and a staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi, best remembered for her daring role in establishing and running the Congress Radio during the Quit India Movement of 1942.
Summary
At just eight years old, she joined her first protest against the Simon Commission, shouting the slogan "Simon Go Back". During one such march, she famously confronted a policeman who was charging at children, attempting to save her teacher by holding the police baton.
