Kersi Khambatta is an Indian screenwriter, author, and former merchant navy sailor who transitioned to writing after 23 years at sea. He is highly regarded for co-writing acclaimed, unconventional Bollywood films like Being Cyrus (2006) and Finding Fanny (2014). Recently, he also spearheaded the script for Netflix India’s hit young-adult drama series, Class (2023).
Résumé
As a novelist, Khambatta made his literary debut with The Village of Pointless Conversation (2016), which earned a spot on the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award longlist. He followed this success with his second book, The Stowaway (2022), a coming-of-age story set in Mumbai. He is widely recognized for his sharp dialogue, unique characters, and witty storytelling style.
