Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT), Mokokchung has been setup under the Third Technician Education Project, assisted by the World Bank. Under this project the State Project Implementation Unit(SPIU) was set up which has the overall responsibility in setting up Institutes for Technician Education The Institute was established in the year 2003 with a view to gather to the needs of the people of the state in emerging areas of Information Technology and to provide the art of teaching-learning facilities as available elsewhere in the country. he Institute has the responsibility to produce employable technicians, Entrepreneurs and also to uplift the community through technology transfer and training.
