Praveen Kumar is India’s world No. 1 para high jumper competing in the T64 disability category. Born on May 15, 2003, in Govindgarh, Uttar Pradesh, he overcame a congenital impairment that left one leg shorter than the other to become a global sporting icon. He shot to international fame at just 18 years old by winning a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, and he has since dominated the sport, culminating in a historic gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Paralympics with an Asian record-breaking leap of 2.08 metres
