Achievement Award

Event Description

Kandula Jessie, a 14-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, has been selected for Mission ShakthiSAT, a historic all-girls global lunar CubeSat mission. The daughter of a carpenter from Dowleswaram, she studies at Zilla Parishad Girls High School and is the sole representative from her state. She outperformed nearly 12,000 global applicants to secure one of just 20 coveted spots from India for this international space initiative.

Summary

Her selection follows the completion of 550 advanced online sessions covering satellite design, propulsion, and space technology through her school's Atal Tinkering Lab. Starting in late August 2026, she will undergo hands-on training in New Delhi to help build a student satellite. With a passion nurtured by her teachers, Jessie aims to break barriers and eventually join the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a space scientist.
