Government Engineering College Sheikhpura was established in 2019 by the Government of Bihar under the visionary “Saat Nischaya” initiative. The institute aims to expand access to quality technical education, nurture skilled engineers, and strengthen the state’s contribution to the national technical workforce. The college is one of the government engineering institutions established across districts of Bihar under the Department of Science,Technology and Technical Education, Government of Bihar, and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In its initial phase,the institute was affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University(AKU) and operated from the campus of Nalanda College of Engineering, Chandi, which provided a strong academic and infrastructural base during its formative years.
